PEORIA, Ill. -- Second-year Bradley Women's Golf Head Coach Halley Morell received a couple of commitments during the fall signing period with Kathryn McNease (San Antonio, Texas/International School of the Americas) and Maria Perakis (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) each signing National Letters of Intent to attend Bradley.

A four-time letterwinner, McNease posted a trio of top five finishes 2020.  Her first career round under par (70) came this past year in the final round of a Cactus Tour event, where she finished 21st.  McNease took third in a pair of events in 2020, highlighted by a third-place showing at the Shootout in the Hills with a three-under 139 (69-70) for the event.  She also finished third at the New Braunfels Showcase, opening the two-round event with a career-best six-under 65.

"Kathryn has demonstrated her abilities and competitiveness in multiple tournaments against some of the top amateur golfers in the country," said Morell.  "Her dedication to her golf game and her academics will make her a valuable asset to our program and I can't wait to have her on campus next fall."

Perakis has been a state qualifier each of her three prep seasons, finishing as the runner-up at the state championship as a junior after a playoff.  In fact, she has placed in the top five at the state championship twice (fifth as a sophomore) and in the top 20 all three years.  Perakis carded a personal best 69 to win the 2019 IJGA-CDGA Junior Amateur.  She is a three-time team captain and has been named team MVP each of the past two years.

"Maria has emerged as one of the top golfers in Illinois, narrowly missing out on claiming a high school state title in the fall of 2019 by coming up just short in a playoff," added Morell.  "Her tournament experience and leadership skills will be very beneficial to our team and I am excited to welcome her to the Bradley family."
