White Squad Claims 51-36 Victory In Red-White Scrimmage

PEORIA, Ill. – Sophomore Mahri Petree nearly turned in a triple-double (11 points, eight rebounds & eight assists) and senior Gabi Haack collected a game-high 16 points to help lead the White Squad to a 51-36 victory in Bradley Women's Basketball's annual Red-White Scrimmage held Saturday morning at Renaissance Coliseum.

Joining Petree and Haack in double figures for a White Team which shot nearly 54 percent from the field, was freshman Tete Danso with 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting. Overall the White team committed just three turnovers.

Junior Tatum Koenig, who led the Red Team with 12 points, gave her squad a 12-11 edge with a three-point play midway through the first of the two 10-minute periods. Danso answered with a basket for the White Team and a Haack three-pointer quickly gave the White squad a four-point cushion. The White team led 24-19 after the opening 10-minute stanza.

A 6-0 run for White to start the second period pushed the advantage to 11 (30-19) on a Petree hoop. The Red Team eventually pulled within eight (40-32) on an Isis Fitch jumper with just under three minutes to play. Mahri answered with a three-pointer, however, and back-to-back hoops by Danso helped the White team to the 51-36 victory.

Bradley's three freshmen combined for 24 points, with Danso and Fitch collecting 11 points. Haack finished with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go with six rebounds. Mahri Petree had game highs of eight rebounds, eight assists and two steals along with her 11 points.

The Braves are scheduled to open the 2020-21 season Wednesday, Nov. 25 against Kansas City at Renaissance Coliseum.
