Women's Basketball 12/4/2020 12:05:00 PM
PEORIA, Ill. -- A trio of non-conference games along with the adjusted Missouri Valley Conference schedule all announced Friday nearly completes the 2020-21 Bradley Women's Basketball schedule.

In addition to the full MVC slate, the Braves announced a Sunday road game at Saint Louis (2 p.m.) and home contests against in-state foe Northern Illinois (Dec. 13) and Summit League preseason favorite South Dakota (Dec. 17).  Both the Saint Louis contest and game against Northern Illinois will air on ESPN+, while the viewing options for the outing vs. South Dakota will be announced at a later date.

In November the MVC announced a change to the previously announced league slate and adopted a new scheduling format for men's and women's basketball conference games.  The new format significantly reduces travel and places an emphasis on the health and safety of student-athletes, coaches and staff. The MVC will continue to play an 18-game format in which teams will face one another in a two-game series on back-to-back days at the same site. Each institution will play four road series and four home series and will also face their designated 'travel partner' in a single-game, home-and-home series.

Bradley will kick off the MVC schedule New Year's Day in Des Moines, Iowa, against Drake and close out the opening series Jan. 2 against the Bulldogs.

Southern Illinois visits Renaissance Coliseum Jan. 8 & 9, before the Braves head to Evansville for a two-game series against the Purple Aces Jan. 15 & 16; with Bradley playing seven of the first 11 Valley games on the road.

After a weekend home stand against Loyola Jan. 22 & 23, the Braves close out the first half of the league slate with a midweek contest at I-74 rival Illinois State (Jan. 27).

The only Thursday/Friday series of the year kicks off the second half of the league slate, with Bradley visiting Valparaiso Feb. 4 & 5 after an open weekend at the end of January.

The Braves are slated to play five of the final seven games at home, opening the stretch Feb. 12 & 13 hosting Northern Iowa.

The final road trip of the regular season has Bradley visiting defending MVC champion and preseason favorite Missouri State (Feb. 19 & 20).

A season-long, three-game home stand wraps up the regular season.  Illinois State makes the trek to Renaissance Coliseum Feb. 24 and the Braves host Indiana State March 5 & 6 to close out the schedule.

With the addition of the three non-conference games, Bradley has one possible non-conference date to add to the schedule.

The MVC Tournament is scheduled for March 11-14 at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline, Ill.
