PEORIA, IL – Senior Natalia Barbery pulled out a marathon victory in three sets, earning the deciding point as the last match on the courts to lead Bradley (5-4) to a 4-3 dual match victory against Northern Illinois (7-5) Saturday afternoon at the Clubs at River City.

With the team score knotted a 3-3, Barbery pulled out a 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 win against NIU's Fernanda Naves at No. 3 Singles to deliver the deciding point in Bradley's third consecutive victory against the Huskies.

Combined with Saturday morning's default victory against Western Illinois, the Braves have won the first three matches of their home stand, which will conclude Friday in a 4 p.m. dual against Southeast Missouri State.

Repeating a recent trend, Bradley was forced to rally in the singles portion of Saturday's dual match after dropping all three doubles matches to fall behind, 1-0.  Sophomore Bozana Lojpur started the rally when her opponent in their No. 2 Singles match retired.  Lojpur was leading 6-0, 4-1 when Jovana Peric retired.

Northern Illinois reclaimed its lead, 2-1, when Brodie Walker completed a 6-0, 6-1 win against freshman Victoria Sanchez Bronzetti at No. 4 Singles, but the Braves took control, 3-2, when junior Sandra Maletin  (No. 1) and sophomore Nikki Perlwitz (No. 5) followed with straight-sets victories of their own.  Maletin improved to 7-0 on the season at No. 1 Singles, while Perlwitz moved to 5-2.

The team victory came down to Barbery's result after Paula Veyhle claimed a 7-6 (1), 6-4 win against Nina Marjanovic at No. 6 Singles to forge a 3-3 tie.
