Bradley Track Sets Six PRs at Notre Dame

The Bradley track and field teams concluded the meet at Notre Dame Saturday, clocking six PR times with three top-10 marks in school history at the Meyo Invitational.

Junior McKenzie Altmayer highlighted the day for the Braves, posting the fifth-fastest time in the BU record book in the 3,000m run. The junior crossed the finish line in 9:46.15 to place 13th in the championship heat at Notre Dame, topping her previous PR by more than four seconds and running the quickest 3,000m by a Brave in four years.

Seniors Gabby Juarez and Abby Jockisch also ran the 3,000m with Juarez clocking a time of 9:55.88 – just missing her PR by two seconds – and Jockisch running in 10:12.15. Altmayer now owns the second-best mark in the Valley this season, while Juarez is sixth in 2020.

Senior Jake Hoffert and sophomore Alec Danner both highlighted the day for the BU men. Hoffert made his 2020 season debut at Notre Dame and ran the mile in 4:12.62 – shaving nearly four seconds off his PR and posting the 10th-best time in school history. Danner followed suit in the 3,000m with a mark of 8:22.60 – nearly five seconds off his previous best and the 10th-best time in the BU record book.

Three additional Braves clocked their PR in the 3,000m run – freshman Matthew Richtman in 8:26.96, senior Luke Hoffert in 8:28.37 and sophomore Jack Franklin in 8:32.70. BU recorded three of the top nine times in the Valley this season in the 3,000m, highlighted by Danner's No. 3 ranking.

The Braves are back in action next weekend, running at the Iowa State Classic and GVSU Big Meet on Friday and Saturday.
