Jake Hoffert Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior runner Jake Hoffert (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after earning All-Missouri Valley Conference honors at the 2020 MVC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Hoffert, who was the MVC Elite 17 Award winner, finished second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:28.91 to earn all-conference honors at the MVC Indoor Championship for the second time in his career. A manufacturing engineering major, Hoffert owns a 3.76 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

The Bradley Track & Field teams open the 2020 outdoor season Saturday, March 21 at the Bill Cornell Spring Classic in Carbondale, Ill.
