PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior runner Luke Hoffert (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday.

A two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference honoree during his career, Hoffert finished second at the 2019 Valley Cross Country Championship this past fall as he helped the Bradley men's cross country team to a league-record fifth consecutive title with his second-place individual showing.  This winter, he took fourth in the 5,000 meters at the MVC Indoor Track & Field Championship.  A manufacturing engineering major with a 3.78 cumulative grade point average, Hoffert is a four-time MVC Scholar-Athlete performer during his career and was an all-region honoree in cross country as a junior, when he helped the Braves advance to the NCAA Championship.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
