Kaboom! Awards to be Presented Throughout May

The annual celebration of the year in Bradley Athletics will transition to a month-long presentation on BradleyBraves.com and the Bradley Athletics social media accounts

PEORIA, IL – The annual one-night celebration of the year in Bradley Athletics will become a month-long event as the 2020 Kaboom! Awards, presented by RE/MAX Traders Unlimited and supported by PNC, will transition to a virtual presentation throughout the month of May.

Each year on the final night of spring semester classes, the Bradley Department of Athletics gathers at Renaissance Coliseum for the annual Kaboom! Awards, an event modeled after the popular awards shows in the entertainment industry (Oscars, Grammys, ESPYs) and recognizes all of the graduating seniors, spotlights the team and individual achievements from throughout the year and is capped by the presentation of the University's top Athletics honor, the Charles Orsborn Award. Traditionally preceded by a red-carpet reception, the awards show is filled with video and graphic tributes, which will be presented this year through the Bradley Athletics website, BradleyBraves.com, and the department's social media accounts, beginning Monday and culminating with the announcement of the 67th Charles Orsborn Award May 29 and viewing of the Moments of the Year May 30.

Honoring Bradley's former four-sport student-athlete, Men's Basketball Head Coach and Director of Athletics, the Charles Orsborn Award is the most-prestigious honor Bradley University bestows upon a graduating senior student-athlete and recognizes the ability of the winner to combine athletic and academic success with community service. In addition to team highlight videos and awards, other Department honors presented during the Kaboom! Awards include the Coach Joe Stowell Awards (male and female), the Megan C. Fong Inspiration Award and the Carl Grose Service Award. The Orville Northdurft Lifetime Achievement Award will not be presented this year, due to the temporary move away from a social gathering for the Kaboom! Awards, and the Varsity Club Most Outstanding Athletes (male and female) will be determined in June.
