INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Bradley Men's Basketball team has won consecutive Missouri Valley Conference championships while competing among the nation's best in the classroom.  In addition to Valley titles in 2019 and 2020, the Braves have earned the NCAA Academic Progress Rate Public Recognition Award for a fourth consecutive year, according to the announcement of the awards Tuesday afternoon.

The Men's Basketball team was one of four Bradley programs recognized with the APR Public Recognition Award Tuesday, joining Baseball, Men's Golf and Women's Golf.

For a third consecutive year, Bradley was the only Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball team to earn the APR Public Recognition Award, while the Braves join Auburn, Belmont, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Michigan State and Villanova as the only seven men's basketball programs in the nation to win at least 20 games and receive the APR Public Recognition Award in each of the last three years.

Bradley Baseball, which was coming off consecutive 30-win seasons for the first time in 25 years before the 2020 season was halted, earned its first APR Public Recognition Award. The Braves are among just nine baseball programs in the nation to receive the honor this year while also winning at least 30 games in each of the final two years of the evaluation period (2018 and 2019), joining Army, Bryant, Clemson, Fordham, Georgia, Illinois, Mercer and Michigan.

Bradley Men's Golf has earned the distinction for a fourth consecutive year and the ninth time overall, while Women's Golf earned its first honor since 2014, but seventh overall.

Each year, the NCAA honors selected NCAA Division I sports teams by publicly recognizing their latest multiyear NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate.  This announcement is part of the overall Division I academic reform effort and is intended to highlight teams that demonstrate a commitment to academic progress and retention of student-athletes by achieving the top APRs within their respective sports.  Specifically, these teams posted multiyear APRs in the top 10 percent of all squads in each sport.

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship.  The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance during a four-year evaluation period.
