Gabby Juarez Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior runner Gabby Juarez (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday.

A nutrition and wellness major with a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average, Juarez was the MVC Elite 17 Award winner at the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championship after a third-place individual finish as she helped the Braves to the team title. She is a five-time MVC Scholar-Athlete performer in cross country and track and captured NCAA All-Midwest Region honors in cross country following a 15th-place finish at the NCAA Regional. An All-MVC honoree in cross country in 2018, Juarez placed eighth in the 5,000 meters at the 2020 MVC Indoor Track & Field Championship and holds top 10 times in school history in the indoor 3,000 meters (7th) along with the outdoor 5,000 (8th) and 10,000 meters (9th).

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
