CLEVELAND – Dr. Chris Reynolds, Bradley University Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, will serve as President for the Division I-AAA Athletic Director's Association during the 2020-21 school year, according to an announcement of the association's officers and executive committee Thursday.

Beginning his sixth year overseeing the Bradley Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Reynolds previously served as the Division I-AAA ADA Executive Board First Vice President during the 2019-20 school year.

"It's an honor to represent our association at this critical juncture for universities and colleges around the country," said Reynolds.  "I look forward to working with the executive committee, officers and staff in our efforts to be a support to Division I-AAA athletics departments while we strive to assist in providing the best experience possible for our student-athletes competitively, academically and in their respective communities."

Reynolds takes the reins from Scott Leykam, vice president for athletics at the University of Portland, who will transition to Past President. Serving alongside Reynolds will be: 1st Vice President Kim Record, director of athletics at the University of North Carolina Greensboro; 2nd Vice President Simon Gray, director of athletics at Niagara University; 3rd Vice President Robert Lineburg, director of athletics at Radford University; Secretary Joan McDermott, director of athletics at the University of San Francisco; and Treasurer Ken Kavanagh, director of athletics at Florida Gulf Coast University.

The 2020-21 DI-AAA ADA Executive Committee will consist of: Peter Casey, University of Massachusetts Lowell; Philip Hutcheson, Lipscomb University; Ed McLaughlin, VCU; Mike Cragg, St. John's University; Andy Fee, Long Beach State University; Roderick Perry, IUPUI; Bill Maher, Canisius College; Steve Watson, Loyola University Chicago; Mike Carter, Oral Roberts University; Mike Matoso, St. Mary's College of California; Shaney Fink, Seattle University; Billy Walker, American University; Janet Cone, University of North Carolina, Asheville; and Rich Ensor, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

In addition to his oversight of the national association's board, Reynolds is beginning his third year as a member of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee and he serves as a member of the NCAA Transfer Working Group.  Reynolds recently served as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference Executive Committee and Chair of the MVC Athletics Administration Committee.

Reynolds has led Bradley to record-breaking achievements and unprecedented success athletically, academically and in the community during his tenure with the Braves.  Under Reynolds' leadership, Bradley has enjoyed its most successful five-year run competitively across all sports programs in department history. During the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, Bradley claimed six Missouri Valley Conference championships – its most in any two-year span in school history – and has won 11 conference titles overall in Reynolds' five years.  Bradley finished the 2018-19 year ranked fifth in the MVC All-Sports standings, tops among The Valley's five private institutions and the Braves' best finish since the 1987-88 campaign.

The upward competitive trend was continuing in 2019-20.  Prior to the abrupt end of the basketball and spring sports seasons due to the coronavirus pandemic, Bradley's four fall sports programs all finished among the top four of their respective MVC standings in the same year for the first time in program history, while both the men's and women's basketball programs also both finished among the top three in the league standings in the same year for the first time in Bradley history.  The men's basketball team successfully defended its MVC Tournament championship to earn an invitation to the NCAA Tournament in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1954 and 1955, while the women's basketball team achieved program records with 22 overall and 13 regular-season Valley wins.
