PEORIA, IL – Bradley Soccer set the tone of the game when Gavin Glinton quickly weaved through the Valparaiso defense to set up a shot in the opening seconds of the games and the Braves (4-3-0) used relentless pressure to generate a program-record 37 shots en route to a 4-0 win against the visiting Crusaders Saturday afternoon at Becker Park.

Stephen Wylie's successful penalty kick in the 34th minute to open the scoring stood up as the game-winner and Glinton sandwiched his fourth goal of the year in the 66th minute in between a pair of second-half goals from Bryan Namoff (51', 77') to complete the scoring.

Starting keeper Adam Gross needed to make just one save in his 62 minutes, before giving way to Nate Adams, who came up with two saves in the final 28 minutes to nail down Bradley's second consecutive shutout.

Highlighted by a 22-1 advantage in the first half, Bradley outshot Valparaiso, 37-8 for the game.  The 37 shots are the most in program history, topping the previous mark of 33 set Aug. 31, 1997 in a 4-0 home win against Northeastern Illinois (Update:  heading into the 2021 season, the 37 shots in the 1999 game against Valparaiso remain the single-game program record).  In all, 12 Braves combined for the 37 attempts, led by the trio of Namoff (8), Tim Regan (7) and Glinton (6), who combined for 21 shots.  Namoff's eight shots equaled the most-ever by a Brave in a single game (Update:  heading into the 2021 season, four Braves have fired off nine shots in a game).

Bradley will have a week to prepare for its first-ever game on the West Coast, a Saturday night showdown at Stanford.  Following two more road games Sept. 29 at IUPUI and Oct. 5 at #25 Cincinnati, the Braves will return home Oct. 15 by opening Missouri Valley Conference play against Evansville.
