On This Date in Bradley Soccer History, presented by Prairie Farms, continues with a look back at the team's 5-1 win against UIC Sept. 26, 1993.

PEORIA, IL – Senior Chad Clift sparked Bradley Soccer by scoring the first two goals and assisting the third, all in the first 23 minutes, leading the Braves (4-3-0) to a 5-1 win against in-state rival Illinois-Chicago Sunday afternoon at Becker Park.

Sunday's rout came on the heels of Saturday's 5-2 win against Dayton and extends Bradley's winning streak to three games.  Starting with a 3-1 win Sept. 19 against Loyola Chicago, the Braves have scored 13 goals during the winning streak, the most goals in any three-game stretch in the program's seven-year NCAA Division I history.

Clift wasted little time getting the Bradley offense untracked, dribbling through traffic and beating the Flames keeper for a 1-0 lead just 1-minute, 14-seconds into the game.  He added his second goal less than seven minutes later by scoring off a Mitch Prunty centering pass for a 2-0 lead at 8:08.  Clift's early-game contributions continued in the 23rd minute when his deflected centering pass lofted toward the left post, where Chris Miller rose above the UIC keeper to nod in Bradley's third goal.

Brian Remedi stretched the lead to 4-0 in the 28th minute by getting an inside the UIC defense for a running header of a Matt Dries cross.

After outshooting UIC, 18-3, in the first half, Bradley extended its lead to 5-0 with Dave Billet's 55th minute goal.  UIC pulled one back in the 63rd minute, but Bradley keeper Scott Fusco stopped 11 of the 12 Flames shots on goal to earn the win.

The Braves will return to action with a busy, 3-game week, starting with a Wednesday afternoon trip to Eastern Illinois.  Bradley will host nationally-ranked Creighton Friday and Drake Sunday at Becker Park.
