PEORIA, IL – Bradley Soccer has added one non-conference game to its 2021 spring schedule and the Braves now are slated to open their 34th NCAA Division I season Feb. 3 by hosting in-state rival Eastern Illinois inside the Slugger Dome at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex.

The remainder of the 2021 spring schedule is intended to be played outdoors against Missouri Valley Conference competition with Bradley's four remaining home games slotted for Shea Stadium.  The Valley previously announced a double round-robin conference schedule for the league's five men's soccer programs and the Braves will begin MVC play Feb. 14 at Missouri State.  Bradley's four MVC home games are to be played Feb. 20 against Loyola Chicago, Feb. 27 versus Drake, March 19 against Missouri State and April 3 versus Evansville.  Following the league-opening game at Missouri State, Bradley's three additional Valley road games are scheduled for March 6 at Evansville, March 24 at Loyola Chicago and March 29 at Drake.

The top four teams in the final MVC regular-season standings will advance to the 2020-21 MVC Men's Soccer Championship.  The two semifinal games will be played April 13 at the sites of the top two seeds and the final is slated for April 17 at the site of the highest remaining seed.  Selections for the reduced-field, 36-team NCAA Men's Soccer Championship will be announced April 18 and the Men's College Cup is slated for May 13-17.

Attendance policies for Bradley's home games will be determined by institutional, local, state and national COVID-19 mitigation protocols in place at the date of the games.

The Braves return 19 student-athletes from their 2019 squad that produced an 8-7-4 overall record and finished third in the MVC race with a 5-3-2 league record.  Now in his 25th season as Bradley Soccer head coach, Jim DeRose enters the 2021 spring campaign with a 250-191-54 (.560) career record.  The March 6 game at Evansville currently is slated to be the 500th game in his career.
