Gabi Haack Named Bradley Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. – Senior guard Gabi Haack (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) has been named this week's Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Women's Basketball sweep a road series at Evansville.

Haack averaged team highs of 20.0 points and 7.0 rebounds to go with 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game in the sweep of the Purple Aces. Haack, who moved into eighth in career scoring at Bradley, shot 54.2 percent from the field and was 9-of-18 (50 percent) from beyond the arc as the Braves improved to 5-1 or better to start Valley play for the second time in program history. In the opener, Haack had 13 points on 4-for-9 shooting and also tied for game high honors with six rebounds, while tallying three assists and two steals in just 22 minutes of action. She followed that up with a season-best 27-point effort in Saturday's victory. Hitting five first-half three-pointers, Haack finished 6-for-10 from beyond the arc, and also had a game-high eight rebounds in addition to dishing out a season-high six assists. She pulled down her 600^th career rebound to become just the fourth player in league history with 240 career three-pointers and 600 or more boards, along with moving into 17^th in league history in three-point makes (246). An elementary education major, Haack owns a 3.79 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Haack and the Braves return to Renaissance Coliseum, opening a two-game home series with Loyola Friday with a 6 p.m. contest against the Ramblers.
