Ramblers Rally with Three Second-Half Goals

Game Recap: Soccer | | Bobby Parker, Sr. Associate AD for Communications and Event & Facility Operations
CHICAGO – Bradley started fast, scoring the game's first goal in the opening five minutes, but Loyola Chicago (9-3-1, 6-1-1 MVC) answered with a pair of goals inside the first eight minutes of the second half and rode the momentum to a 3-1 Missouri Valley Conference men's soccer victory Wednesday night at Loyola Soccer Park.

Of Bradley's first 14 games this season, 12 have been decided by no more than goal with both of the multi-goal setbacks coming in the MVC series against Loyola Chicago.  The loss ends Bradley's two-game unbeaten streak and drops the Braves to 3-10-1 overall, 2-6-0 in The Valley.

Bradley controlled much of the first half and wasted little time taking the lead.  Jack Douglas collected a midfield service from Jake Schofftall on the right side of the penalty area and worked to maintain possession to the end line.  He then played the ball back into the middle of the box, where Camden Kowalski found himself alone and calmly deposited his second goal of the season into the back of the net at 4:38.

Braves keeper Bryce Logan made a pair of saves in the first half, including a brilliant diving touch to push a Billy Hency shot wide of the net, but he was able to stop just one of Loyola's four second-half shots on goal.

Hency got the Ramblers scoring started at 49:45 and Julian Cisneros delivered the game-winner just three minutes later at 52:49.  Oscar Dueso put the game out of reach by scoring the insurance goal at 87:02.

Bradley will continue its challenging final road swing of the regular season Sunday by visting league-leading and ninth-ranked Missouri State (5 p.m. on ESPN+).  The Braves will close the regular season slate Nov. 6 by hosting Evansville in a 7 p.m. Valley start at Shea Stadium.
