Women's Basketball Looks to Exend Unbeaten Start in First Road Game

The 3-0 Braves visit in-state rival Northern Illinois Monday night

After sweeping its three-game home stand to open the season, Bradley will hit the road for the first time Monday by paying a visit to in-state rival Northern Illinois.

SERIES HISTORY
21st Meeting • Northern Illinois leads, 12-8
•  The series against in-state rival Northern Illinois dates back to the 1978-79 season.
•  Bradley is making its 10th trip to DeKalb, where the Huskies own a 7-2 series edge.
•  The Braves snapped a 5-game series losing skid last season, earning a 79-71 win Dec. 13, 2020 at Renaissance Coliseum.
•  The teams met every season from 2006-17 with the Huskies taking eight of those 12 matchups.
•  Bradley head coach Andrea Gorski is 1-2 in her three games against Northern Illinois, while Huskies head coach Lisa Carlsen is 3-1 against the Braves.
• Bradley is looking to end a 6-game road skid against Mid-American Conference teams since the Braves knocked off both Northern Illinois (50-45) and Central Michigan (86-79) on the road during the 2011-12 season.
 
CARLSEN CONNECTION
•  Northern Illinois head coach Lisa Carlsen began her college basketball coaching career at Omaha, where she was an assistant to former Braves head coach Paula Buscher for two seasons (1998-2000), before taking over the Mavericks program when Buscher came to Bradley.
 
FAST STARTS
•  Now off to the fifth 3-0 start in the program's 47-year history, Bradley is shooting for just the fourth 4-0 start to a season in program history.
• With a win Monday night, sixth-year Bradley head coach Andrea Gorski would become the first coach in program history to twice lead the Braves to a 4-0 season start.
 
ROAD TRIPPIN'
•  After opening the season by sweeping a 3-game home stand, Bradley now will play nine of its next 11 games away from home.
•  On the positive side, since the start of the 2018-19 season, Bradley has posted a 26-20 record away from home, including a 19-17 mark in true road games.
 
SCHOOL RECORDS REVIEW
•  Bradley fifth-year senior guard Gabi Haack enters Monday's game as Bradley's all-time leader in career scoring (1,686 points), 3-point field goals made (293), career free throws made (359) and career minutes played (3909).
•  By starting her 113th consecutive game Monday night, Haack will break the program record for games started, currently shared with Jen Brown from 2003-07.
•  With 122 career games played, Haack enters Monday's action three games played shy of tying the school record of 125 games played by MacKenzie Westcott from 2008-12.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
•  Following Monday's game at Northern Illinois, Bradley will return to the road for a Black Friday game at Minnesota.
•  The Braves then will play the first of their two December home games by hosting Tulsa in an 11 a.m. "Field Trip Game" Dec. 1 at Renaissance Coliseum.
