BATON ROUGE, LA – The search for replacement games brought about by multiple COVID cancellations, has delivered the Bradley Women's Basketball team an early Christmas present. Upon returning from Saturday's recently-scheduled game at No. 22 LSU, the Braves will host Illinois-Springfield in a 4 p.m. game Sunday at Renaissance Coliseum before heading home for Christmas.

Sunday's game, Bradley's first home game at Renaissance Coliseum since completing its season-opening, 3-game home sweep Nov. 19 with a 64-57 win against Wisconsin, will feature free admission.  Fans are reminded facial coverings are required to be worn inside all buildings on the Bradley University campus in keeping with the State of Illinois COVID mitigation protocols for indoor events.

By visiting LSU Saturday and hosting UIS Sunday, Bradley will play on consecutive days in different venues, let alone different states, for the first time since the 1997-98 season, when the Braves twice played on consecutive days in two different cities: Nov. 28 at Weber State and Nov. 29 at Utah, followed by Jan. 29 at Wichita State and Jan. 30 at #24 Missouri State.

Saturday's game at LSU will complete an adjusted, 5-game road swing spanning 29 days since the Braves dumped Wisconsin.  Bradley originally was scheduled to host Tulsa Dec. 1 in the annual "Field Trip Game" at Renaissance Coliseum, but that game was canceled due to multiple COVID-19 positive cases within the Golden Hurricane Tier 1 personnel.   Following road games Dec. 4 at North Dakota State and Dec. 6 at South Dakota, Bradley has been out of action during the school's final exams window and was originally scheduled to return to the court for games Monday (vs. Little Rock) and Tuesday (Tulane or Texas Southern) in New Orleans at the Tulane Holiday Tournament.  Tulane canceled the tournament this past Tuesday, however, as the Green Wave paused all activities due to multiple COVID-19 cases within its program.

LSU entered into the schedule picture Wednesday when the Tigers saw their original Saturday opponent, New Orleans, go into a COVID pause.  After quickly altering its travel arrangements, Bradley Women's Basketball will make its first-ever appearance in the Bayou State by facing a fourth Power 5 conference opponent in its last nine games, dating back to its 2021 NCAA Tournament matchup against Texas.

Sunday's game against Illinois-Springfield will be Bradley's first-ever regular-season game against the NCAA Division II Prairie Stars.  The teams have faced off in a pair of preseason exhibition games, most-recently a 74-62 Bradley win Nov. 3, 2019 at Renaissance Coliseum.
