FARGO, ND – Bradley fifth-year senior guard Gabi Haack scored a team-high 22 points to lead four Braves in double-figures, but the visitors could not maintain their early momentum as host North Dakota State (3-4) earned an 83-72 non-conference women's basketball victory Saturday night at Scheels Center.

Sophomore forward Daija Powell added 17 points and matched Haack with seven rebounds, while senior guard Tatum Koenig scored a season-best 13 points and sophomore forward Isis Fitch added a career-best 11 points off the bench to pace Bradley's offensive attack.  North Dakota State countered with a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds from Ryan Cobbins and a second double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds from Emily Dietz.  The Bison also got 15 points from Heaven Hamling and 14 from Kadie Deaton.

After taking a 22-16 lead into the first quarter intermission, Bradley (3-3) built its advantage to a game-high 15 points, 33-18, by outscoring the Bison 11-2 in the first 2:44 of the second quarter.  The Braves still led by 15, 38-23, after Haack drained one of her four 3-pointers with 4:52 left in the first half, but the Bison immediately answered with a Katie Hildebrand triple 16 seconds later, sparking what would prove to be a 15-5 surge to end the half.

Fighting foul trouble the whole night and playing without its second-leading scorer, freshman guard Caroline Waite (14.0 ppg) due to a non-COVID illness, Bradley was never able to regain its momentum in the second half.

After a Haack jumper forged a 59-59 tie with 9:12 left in the game, North Dakota State got a pair of buckets in an 8-0 burst that put North Dakota State out front for good.

Bradley shot 17-33 (.515) from the field in the first half, including 5-of-11 (.455) from 3-point range, but the Braves cooled off in the second half by making just 9-of-28 (.321) field goal attempts and 1-of-8 (.125) tries from beyond the arc.  North Dakota State withstood a 4-for-13 (.307) shooting effort in the first quarter by making 26-of-46 (.565) over the final 30 minutes, including 9-of-14 (.643) from beyond the arc.

Bradley will continue what has become a six-game stretch of games away from home by playing a fourth consecutive road game Monday night at South Dakota.
