PEORIA – The Braves were unable to overcome an early doubles deficit as they fell 6-1 to UIC in a Friday matinee at The Clubs at River City.
 
All three doubles went down to the wire, with UIC wrapping up wins at Numbers 1 and 2, both by final scores of 6-4. Number 3 doubles was stopped with the Flames leading 5-4.
 
Sandra Maletin provided a spark with a 4-6, 6-4, 10-2 comeback win at Number 1 singles for her first win of the young season, but UIC took straight set wins at singles Numbers 2, 3 and 4 to secure their victory.  
 
The Braves will have an opportunity to get right back at it on Saturday with a 4 P.M. contest against the Eastern Michigan Eagles. Updates will be provided on BradleyBraves.com and on Twitter @BradleyUTennis.
 
Due to Restore Illinois Tier 1 and Phase 4 COVID mitigation protocols, fans will not be permitted to attend Bradley's indoor competitions at the Clubs at River City.
