ST. LOUIS - For the first time in their illustrious careers, the Braves sturdy No. 1 Doubles tandem of senior Natalia Barbery and Sandra Maletin have been named the Missouri Valley Conference Doubles Team of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office Wednesday afternoon.
Barbery and Maletin picked up their second win of the season, doing so comfortably by a score of 6-3 over Southeast Missouri State's No. 1 Doubles team of Romana Tarajova and Kseniya Zonova Saturday at The Clubs at River City.
Despite this being their first recognition for MVC Team of the Week, Barbery and Maletin are no strangers to doubles success. Their win against SEMO was their 42nd as a duo, tying the most career wins by a doubles team in program history.  They were also voted the All-MVC No. 1 Doubles tandem during the 2019 season, after posting a 4-1 league record two years ago.
The Braves continue their 11-match homestand at The Clubs at River City with their second weekend double-header of the season, facing SIU Edwardsville Friday at 2 P.M. and Chicago State Saturday at 1 o'clock. Coverage will be provided on Twitter @BradleyUTennis and on BradleyBraves.com.
Due to Restore Illinois Phase 4 COVID mitigation protocols, fans will not be permitted to attend Bradley's indoor competitions at the Clubs at River City.
