Cross Country 2/5/2021 2:45:00 PM
The Bradley cross country teams are set for their only regular-season meet of the season with the Lipscomb Winter Classic on Saturday.

MEET INFO
The men begin the action in Nashville with a noon start time in an 8K race. The women then follow at 1 p.m., running a 5K course.

The Braves will be joined at the meet by the host Bisons, Belmont, Butler, Loyola and Illinois State.

2019 CROSS COUNTRY RECAP
The Braves are in action for the first time on the course in nearly 15 months. When last in action, the Bradley men's team won its fifth-straight MVC Championship in record-breaking fashion – scoring just 17 points as the Braves landed the top four finishers and five of the top seven. Among the team's runners at the 2019 MVC Championship, Alec Hartman and Drew Wenger are set to be in action on Saturday.

The women's team finished second at the 2019 MVC Championship – its seventh-straight top-two finish at the conference meet. McKenzie Altmayer and Tyler Schwartz both earned all-conference accolades for the second time in their career, while Sophia McDonnell – the 2019 MVC Freshman of the Year – and Lilly Strauss also return for the Braves in 2020-21 after solid rookie campaigns.

INDOOR HIGHLIGHTS
The Braves are looking to maintain their momentum from the indoor track season into the cross country campaign.

Through two meets so far, Wilma Nielsen has highlighted the indoor season for the Braves. The rookie has earned MVC Female Track Athlete of the Week honors following both of her performances, which included a school-record day in the 800m last Saturday at Indiana State with a time that ranks 15th nationally.

Charlie Parrish has highlighted the performances for the Bradley men so far. The junior currently owns the top time in the Valley in the 3,000m run – set last week at Indiana State. He also owns the top mark by the Braves in the mile run, which ranks fourth in the conference.

UP NEXT
The Braves return to the track next weekend, competing at the Indiana State Invitational. The next cross country meet scheduled is the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, slated for Wednesday, March 3.
