PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley Women's Basketball senior guard Gabi Haack (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) has been named one of 30 national candidates for the Senior CLASS Award according to a recent announcement.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Haack is the fifth Bradley Women's Basketball player selected as a Senior CLASS Award candidate, joining Chelsea Brackmann (2019-20), Michelle Young (2013-14), Jenny Van Kirk (2009-10) and Kelly Krumwiede (2008-09) and is one of two candidates from the Missouri Valley Conference this season along with Drake's Maddie Monahan.

Currently third in the MVC in both scoring at 16.2 points per game and rebounding (7.2 rebounds per game), Haack leads the league in three-point field goals (2.8 per contest).  Shooting 39.7 percent from three-point range to rank sixth in The Valley this year, Haack is seventh in overall field goal percentage (47.3 percent) in the conference.

An elementary education major with a 3.80 cumulative grade point average, Haack is a two-time MVC Scholar-Athlete selection and was named a NCAA Division I-AAA Scholar-Athlete last year as a junior.

Haack has climbed into seventh in career scoring at Bradley with 1,453 career points and holds the school record for career three-pointers (256).  The fourth player in MVC history with 250 career three-pointers and 600 or more career rebounds, Haack is one of two active players in the country with 250 three's and 600 or more boards.  Her 256 career three-pointers is tied for 13th in MVC history.

This season, Haack is one of just two players in the nation to have 50 made three-pointers, 50 made free throws and 125 or more rebounds and is the lone individual in the country to also have 35 or more assists.

Haack is the MVC's active career scoring leader, ranking 30th nationally among active players and also ranks the top 40 nationally among active players in made three-pointers (11th), free throw percentage (9th) and made free throws (35).

The list of 30 national candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists in late February.   Those 10 names will then be placed on the official ballot for a nationwide vote. Fan balloting will be coupled with votes from coaches and media to determine the recipient of the award.

Haack and the Braves return to action Friday, hosting Northern Iowa in a 6 p.m. contest at Renaissance Coliseum to open a two-game series against the Panthers.
