Two More School Records Fall at Ole Miss

Oxford, Miss. – After opening the Joe Walker Invite at Ole Miss with two school records on Friday, the Bradley track and field team added two more marks in Saturday's second day of action.

Freshman Wilma Nielsen set her second record in as many days, establishing a new standard in the 800m run as Bradley had its most successful day as a team in the event. The rookie ran the distance in 2:07.90, topping the previous standard of 2:08.46 – set by Emily Delvo in 2015 – by more than a half a second.

Freshman Tiana LoStracco also topped Delvo's mark and now has the second-best time in school history at 2:08.19. Classmate Julia Nielsen added the sixth-best time in 2:09.91.

LoStracco was also part of a school-record performance in the women's 4x400 relay. Hannah Ivy, T'ya Suber, LoStracco and Sierra Bryant teamed up to run the race in 3:49.50 – easily topping the previous record of 3:52.78 that had stood since 1982 by more than three seconds.

Overall, the Braves recorded nine top-10 times in school history to wrap up the meet at Ole Miss.

In the men's 1,500m run, freshman Max Dieterich clocked the fifth-best time in school history with a mark of 3:47.81. Classmate Jack Crull also added the 10th-best time, crossing the finish line in 3:50.32.

Matt Aho and Tyler Schwartz added their names into the 5,000m record book. Aho posted the seventh-best time in BU men's history at 14:23.97, while Schwartz clocked the seventh-best time in the women's record book at 16:55.60.

The women's 400m run was the final event to see a new name added into the record book. Ivy, who already owns the second-best time in school history, led BU at 57.30, while Bryant now ranks 10th at 58.85.

The Braves are back in action next Saturday, competing at the Gibson Invitational on the campus of Indiana State.
