Match Recap: Women's Tennis | | Josh Schwam, Athletics Communications Student Assistant
Peoria, Ill. – Even a short rain delay could not dampen Bradley's mood, as the Braves defeated the Saint Louis Billikens 5-2 on senior day at the David Markin Tennis Courts this afternoon.

Bradley got wins at Nos. 1 and 3 Doubles to take the doubles point from the Billikens. With their 6-1 win at No. 3, Bozana Lojpur/Nikki Perlwitz are on a three-match winning streak in doubles. Meanwhile, the No. 1 tandem of Sandra Maletin/Victoria Sánchez-Bronzetti had to fight, but came away with a 6-4 win to clinch the point.

For the second week in a row, Perlwitz dominated her competition at No. 6 Singles. With her 6-0, 6-1 win, she is now on a five match singles winning streak and has won eight of her last nine matches across both singles and doubles. In her last two singles wins against UNI and Saint Louis, Perlwitz has only dropped one game.

Next for the Braves, Natalia Barbery closed out her home career with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 Singles. She has won three of her last four matches, all at No. 5.

The Billikens pulled one back with a win at No. 3 Singles, but Lojpur was able to clinch the match victory for Bradley with a 6-4, 7-6(4) win.

During Lojpur's tiebreak, the match was halted due to rain. The delay was the first time that a Bradley Tennis home match has been halted to rain since at least 2014. It was a quick stoppage, and play was resumed in less than 10 minutes.

Maria Bezmenova was the last victory for the Braves, winning 6-0, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 4 Singles.

Bradley will hit the road tomorrow for its last regular season matchup, visiting conference foe Valparaiso at 11 o'clock. Post-match updates will be provided on BradleyBraves.com
