Ledwein & Women’s Golf Both Sixth After Day One At MVC Championship

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Senior Taylor Ledwein is just three shots off the lead in a tie for sixth and Bradley Women's Golf sits in sixth in the team standings after the opening two rounds of the 2020-21 Missouri Valley Conference Championship.

Ledwein led the field after an opening round 71 at the par-71 Bogey Hills Country Club Monday morning, highlighted by an eagle on the par-4 18^th. She was three-under through 13 holes, finishing the opening-round atop the individual standings at 71. Ledwein carded an 81 in the afternoon to finish the day at 10-over 152 in a tie for sixth and will enter Tuesday's final round three shots back of individual leader Sophie Rohleder of Evansville, who closed Monday's action at seven-over 149.

Bradley was fourth in the team standings after an opening 309, but slipped to sixth by the end of the day. The Braves turned in a 319 in the afternoon to close the day 628, 10 shots out of a tie for third.

Evansville owns a 10-shot lead on the field at 604 with Northern Iowa second in the standings at 614. Illinois State and Southern Illinois are tied for third overall with Missouri State fifth in the standings at 622. The Braves hold a four-shot edge on seventh-place Drake (632) going into Tuesday's final round.

Elyse Emerzian is just outside the top 20 in the individual standings in 23^rd overall at 158 after following up a first-round 80 with a 78 in the afternoon.

Megan Welch had the low second-round score for the Braves with a 76 on the heels of a first-round 83 to close Monday's action one shot back of Emerzian in a tie for 24^th at 159.

Maddie Hawkins posted rounds of 81 and 84 on the opening day and is tied for 38^th (165). Mara Flaherty rounds out the team scoring for Bradley in a tie for 43^rd at 169, carding a first-round 77 to help highlight the day.

The final round of the MVC Championship will tee off Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
