PEORIA, IL – Bradley 1B Stacia Seeton drove in three runs, including the game-winner on a 2-out single in the seventh inning, lifting the Braves (10-10, 3-4 MVC) to a 4-3, walk-off win against Missouri State (16-11, 7-2) in the opening game of a 3-game Missouri Valley Conference series Friday afternoon at Petersen Hotels Field.

Grace French (5-3) scattered eight hits in the complete-game victory in the circle.  All eight hits against French were singles.  She walked one and struck out two. Steffany Dickerson (7-6) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts.

The Bears scored the tying run in the sixth inning, but left two on base in the inning when French got pinch hitter Meagan McCorkle to ground out with two runners on base to end the inning.

Keeler van Breusegen got the deciding bottom of the seventh started by hitting a hard single off the Bears third baseman, drawing a pitching change from Missouri State.  1B Madison Hunsaker replaced Dickerson in the circle and induced a foul out from Lucy Mead, before Camryn Monteer legged out a slap single to put runners at first and second with one out.  After Avry Blume struck out swinging, Seeton worked fouled off five straight pitches before lacing a 3-2 pitch into left field.  Van Breusegen hesitated coming around third, but still was able to slide safely to the fair side of home plate to set off Bradley's winning celebration.

Seeton got the scoring started in the third inning, bringing home Mead on a RBI ground out.  After the Bears scored twice in the fourth, the Braves regained the lead in the fifth on Seeton's RBI ground out to third base to bring home Blume, who preceded her with a RBI double.

Blume led Bradley's 7-hit attack by going 3-for-4 with a run and RBI.  Vicki Zaluske also had a double for the Braves.

The teams will conclude the series with a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. Saturday at Petersen Hotels Field.
