Tennis Hits the Road for the First Time This Season

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Bradley Tennis hits the road for the first time in over a year as the Braves search for their first conference win of the 2021 dual match season against Missouri State at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cooper Tennis Complex.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
  • Missouri State leads the all-time series with the Braves, 19-7.
  • Bradley won the last matchup, 5-2, April 14, 2019 at Missouri State.
  • Bradley took all but one singles point on the day, with current Braves Sandra MaletinBozana LojpurNatalia Barbery and Nina Marjanovic all earning victories.

DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK
  • Bradley's adaptability in doubles has been excellent this season, with the new No. 1 Doubles tandem of Sandra Maletin/Victoria Sánchez-Bronzetti earning its first Missouri Valley Conference Team-of-the-Week award on March 31.
  • They defeated Illinois States' No. 1 team of Tara Damnjanovic/Tijana Zlatanovic, 6-4. The Redbirds pair was the only duo to win MVC Doubles Teams of the Week on more than one occasion this season.
  • The Braves took the doubles point from preseason favorite Illinois State for the second time in their last three meetings.
  • The victory moves Maletin/Sánchez-Bronzetti to 3-1 together.
 
NEW CLUBHOUSE LEADER
  • After last week's match against ISU, Bozana Lojpur now has the longest active singles winning streak on the team, winning her last four matches at No. 2 Singles.
  • Maletin is now 8-2 on the season at the No. 1 position.
 
CATCHING ON
  • With Sandra Maletin and Bozana Lojpur being extremely solid at the top two singles positions, Victoria Sánchez-Bronzetti is catching on at No. 3.
  • The freshman is 5-1 in her last six singles matches.
  • After playing the first five matches of the year at No. 2 doubles, she has played four of the last five dual matches at the No. 1 position.
 
ROAD TRIPPIN'
  • The match against Missouri State will mark the first time Bradley Tennis has hit the road this season, after playing its first nine dual matches at home.
  • Bradley's last road match was a 5-2 victory at Chicago State in March 2019, with the Braves winning 5-2.
