Bradley Track Heads to Illinois State

The Bradley track and field teams are set for their final meet before championship action, competing at the Illinois State Invite on Friday and Saturday.
 

MEET INFO
The women's action is slated for Friday, beginning at 11 a.m. with the long jump before track events start at 1 p.m. The men are then set to compete on Saturday with a 1 p.m. start time.
 
Other Division I schools set to compete at Illinois State include the host Redbirds, Butler, Drake, Eastern Illinois, Loyola, Northern Iowa and SIU Edwardsville.
 

LAST TIME OUT
The Braves competed at the Drake Relays last weekend and set five school records over the three-day meet.
 
Freshman Wilma Nielsen set the school's 800m record for the third-straight week, while Bradley added four relays records – the women's 4x200, women's sprint medley, women's 4x400 and men's 4x800.
 

BRAVES IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Five Braves are currently ranked in the top 100 nationally in their respective event.
 
Alec Hartman leads the way for BU as he owns the 26th-best time in Division I in the men's 800m. On the women's side, Wilma Nielsen is 51st in the event, while Tiana LoStracco is 59th and Julia Nielsen is 90th. Evan Mitchell also places 77th nationally in the men's 3,000m steeplechase.
 

UP NEXT
After taking next weekend off, the Braves are back in action for the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship, beginning on Friday, May 14 in Carbondale, Illinois.
