Tennis Drops First Road Match of the Season at Missouri State

Springfield, Mo. – Bradley Tennis continued its conference dual match slate, dropping a 5-2 contest against Missouri State Saturday afternoon.

The No. 2 Doubles pairing of Maria Bezmenova/Nina Marjanovic improved to 2-1 together with a 6-3 win, but the Bears were able to snag victories at the other two doubles positions to claim the doubles point.

After an uncharacteristic setback last week, Sandra Maletin returned to winning ways with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 victory at No. 1 Singles. The victory improved her singles record to 9-2 this season, all of which have been at the No. 1 position.

Nikki Perlwitz earned her first singles conference win of the season with a 7-6 (1), 6-2 win at No. 6. Perlwitz has split time this season between Nos. 5 and 6 Singles, and the victory improved her singles record on the season to 4-4.

Missouri State secured victories at the other four singles positions to win the match 5-2.

Bradley will be back in action on Tuesday, April 6^th against NIU for a 6 p.m. dual match at the David Markin Tennis Courts. The match will be broadcasted on ESPN+. It will mark the first time a Bradley Tennis dual match has been broadcasted on ESPN+.

Due to Restore Illinois Phase 4 COVID mitigation protocols and Bradley Athletics policy, fans will not be permitted to attend Bradley's indoor competitions at The Clubs at River City and will not be permitted inside the gate for outdoor competitions at the David Markin Courts at this time. Fans are permitted outside the fence at the David Markin Tennis Courts.
