Normal, Ill. – The Bradley men's track team concluded the action at the Illinois State Invite on Saturday afternoon with the 800m event highlighting the day for BU.

Senior Scott Seymour finished first of 30 runners in the 800m, clocking a career-best time of 1:49.89. The senior shaved 0.51 seconds off his previous best as he improved what already ranked as the second-best mark in school history. Freshman Max Dieterich wasn't far behind his teammate as he crossed the finish line in 1:50.24 to place fourth overall and clock the third-best mark in school history.

The duo both posted key times to qualify for the NCAA Championship. With the NCAA reinstating the qualifying list back to the normal top 48 in each region last week (was reduced to 32 due to COVID), both improved their times to move closer to qualification. Seymour entered the week ranked 58th in the region and his new time is currently 38th. Meanwhile, Dieterich improved from 52nd to 46th.

Sophomore Charlie Parrish also finished first of 17 runners in the 1,500m on Saturday, posting a PR time of 3:56.02. Freshmen Jack Crull and Noah Costa added top-10 individual finishes, placing third and fifth, respectively, in the 3,000m steeplechase.

The Braves now turn their attention toward the MVC Championship, slated to begin on Thursday, May 14 at Southern Illinois.
