ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Senior guard Gabi Haack (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) was named the female recipient of the Missouri Valley Conference's Dr. Charlotte West Scholar-Athlete Award, according to an announcement by the league office Monday.  The award recognizes the top all-around student-athlete in the conference in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence and service and leadership.

One of the most decorated players in Bradley Women's Basketball history, Haack is the only three-time First-Team All-MVC selection for the Braves.  She averaged 21.0 points per game and shot 42 percent from three-point range during Bradley's run to the first MVC Tournament title and NCAA Tournament appearance in program history in 2020-21, capturing MVC Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors in the process.

The 2020-21 MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Haack was one of 30 national candidates for the Senior CLASS Award this past year and was Bradley's first CoSIDA Academic All-District selection since 2009-10.  Currently second in career scoring at Bradley with 1,640 career points, she needs just 40 points to break the school scoring mark.  Haack was second in the MVC in scoring during the recently completed 2020-21 campaign, scoring a career-best 16.5 points per contest, in addition to ranking sixth in the league in rebounding (6.8 rpg) and her conference-best 77 made three-pointers ranked 11th nationally.

Haack is second in MVC history with 283 career three-pointers (12 short of breaking the league mark) and is the only player in MVC history to make 60 or more three-pointers in four different seasons.  She has started a school record 109 consecutive games, a streak dating back to early in her freshman season, to break the previous school mark of 107.  Haack also ranks second in Bradley history in career made free throws and eighth in school history with 716 career rebounds.

During her time on The Hilltop, Bradley has claimed a school record for MVC victories in a four-year period and the team's 72 overall wins over the last four seasons matches the school mark for overall wins is a four-year stretch.

An elementary education major with a 3.81 cumulative grade point average, Haack is a three-time MVC Scholar-Athlete selection and earned the MVC Good Neighbor Award in the winter of 2020.

Haack is the sixth Brave to receive the MVC Dr. Charlotte West Award and first female at Bradley to earn the honor since runner Tamara Hart in 2003.
