A historic year on court for Bradley Tennis student-athletes has been followed up with an even better year in the classroom. With four members of the 2020-21 squad recognized as ITA Scholar Athletes, Bradley Tennis has been recognized as a 2021 Division I Women's Tennis ITA All-Academic Team, according to an announcement by The Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), have all student-athletes included on the institutional eligibility form and include all varsity letter winners factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.  Natalia Barbery, Kinga Kovacs, Nina Marjanovic and Nikki Perlwitz all earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Barbery graduated in May with a 3.71 cumulative grade point average as an Industrial engineering major with an emphasis in engineering management and recently wrapped up one of the most successful careers in program history, both on court and in the classroom. The 2020 MVC Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Barbery earned repeat selection for the MVC Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete first team in 2021, becoming the sixth student-athlete in program history to earn first-team recognition more than once in her career.  An honorable mention selection in both 2018 and 2019, Barbery also becomes the first student-athlete in program history to qualify from the MVC Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete Team four times, a consequence of the extra year of eligibility in 2020-21 granted to spring sports student-athletes due to the ongoing global pandemic.

Kovacs, a rising senior majoring in business with an emphasis in management & leadership, earned the Missouri Valley Conference Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award in 2019 as well as landing on the MVC Honor Roll in 2018 and 2019. She has also earned a spot on the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll, requiring a minimum 3.30 semester GPA, in each of her first seven semesters on the Hilltop.

Marjanovic also will be a rising senior and is a double major in international studies and political science, boasting a 3.31 cumulative GPA. She saw increased playing time in the 2021 season and subsequently raised her game in the classroom. After being part of Bradley's second Missouri Valley Conference Doubles Team of the Week of the season, she went on to be named to the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the third time in her career.

Sporting a 3.35 cumulative GPA as an international studies major, Perlwitz continues to add to her growing list of accomplishments.  She was named MVC Scholar Athlete Honorable Mention in 2021 and owns four selections to the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll.  On court, she became Bradley's third All-MVC performer, taking home the honor at No. 6 Singles in 2021.
