SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Freshman Maria Perakis tied for 15th and fellow freshman Kathryn McNease earned her first career top 20 finish as the duo helped Bradley Women's Golf tie for eighth in the 16-team field at the Payne Stewart Memorial Tuesday.

Bradley had its best round of the tournament with a 15-over 299 during Tuesday's final round at the par-71 Twin Oaks Country Club to tie Wichita State for eighth in the final team standings at 908. The Braves finished just five shots out of the top three and just six strokes separated third from 10th.

Oral Roberts claimed the team title by eight shots, finishing at 22-over par 874, after a final round 292. Cal Baptist was second at 882, while Drake and Murray State tied for third overall at 903.

Perakis posted her second top-20 showing in as many outings, tying for 15th overall, while McNease tied for 20th in the field to lead the Braves. The duo along with junior Mara Flaherty each fired three-over 74's on the final day. Perakis tied for 15th overall at 11-over par 224, missing a second straight top-10 finish by five shots.

The final round 74 was a season-best for McNease, who had a bogey-free round, to climb into a tie for 20th at 226. Flaherty was two back of McNease at 228 in a tie for 23rd as she matched her season-best round of 74 and now has a team-best four rounds of 74 or lower on the year.

Senior Megan Welch tied for 33rd at 230, finishing out play with a 77, while fellow senior Elyse Emerzian carded a season-best 82 to tie for 74th (248) in her first outing of the season.

The Braves have a week off from competition before returning to action Sept. 27-29 in Columbia, Mo., at the Johnie Imes Invitational.
