Braves Capture Two Indivudal Championships at Redbird Invite

NORMAL, IL – Bradley Tennis ended its weekend on a high, with Kirstin Hailey and Nikki Perlwitz clinching individual championships at Flights 4 and 6 Singles respectively at the Redbird Invite.

Hailey was first to clinch the win, picking up an impress 6-2, 6-4 victory over Shianna Guo of the University of Chicago. With the win, Hailey remains undefeated in Singles play in her collegiate career. Hailey joins teammates Madalena Andrade, Bozana Lojpur, Perlwitz and Sandra Maletin as winners of an individual competition during their collegiate careers.

Perlwitz followed, dominating the Flight 6 position with a 6-4 7-5 victory over Perene Wang, also of the University of Chicago.

Doubles play saw Hailey/Sandra secure an 8-6 victory over Claire and Olivia Czerwonka of Valparaiso. The win earned Bradley's Flight 1 tandem a third-place overall finish in the bracket. Lojpur/Perlwitz picked up an 8-3 win at Flight 3 Doubles to cap doubles for the weekend.

The Braves will have two weeks off before the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships beginning from Friday, October 8 – Sunday, October 10.
