Braves Head West For UW Invitational

PEORIA, Ill. – After back-to-back weekends traveling to the state of Iowa, Bradley Track & Field makes its longest trip of the 2022 Indoor Season with the Braves sending a contingent to Seattle, Wash., to compete at the UW Invitational Friday and Saturday.

Bradley sends a group of eight individuals to compete at this weekend's UW Invitational, which begins Friday afternoon at Washington's Dempsey Indoor and wraps up Saturday.

Friday's action includes junior George Watson in the men's 5,000 meters, along with sophomore Sophia McDonnell and junior Tyler Schwartz in the women's 5,000 meters.

Saturday will feature sophomore Max Dieterich in the men's mile. On the women's side, freshman Nicola Jansen will run in the 3,000 meters after setting the top time in the MVC in the event earlier this month. Sophomore Julia Nielsen also owns the best 800-meter time in the Valley this season and will run in the 800 again Saturday. The final day also includes Amiyah Davis and Hannah Ivy in the women's 400 meters.

LAST TIME OUT
Davis broke the school record in the women's 400 meters to help highlight action for the Braves at the Cyclone Open Saturday in Ames, Iowa. Her school record time of 56.40 ranks second in the MVC this season.

Nielsen made her season debut Saturday in Ames, taking second in the 800 meters with her time of 2:11.06 the best in the Valley in 2022.

On the men's side, Dieterich clocked a personal-best mile time of 4:04.93, which is third in the MVC this year and ranks sixth in school history. Dieterich also owns the top time in the MVC in the men's 800 meters.

UP NEXT
With the UW Invitational marking the halfway point of the 2022 Indoor Season for Bradley, the Braves will follow up the trip to Seattle, Wash., with the first of two trips to Notre Dame for the Meyo Invitational Feb. 4 & 5 in South Bend, Ind.
