Evansville, Ind. - The Braves Braves (3-6-1, 1-3-0 MVC) were able to claim their first MVC win of the 2022 campaign after defeating Drake on Wednesday night, 1-0. They'll look to continue their winning ways on Sunday when they take on the Evansville Purple Aces (4-2-3, 1-1-1 MVC) on Sunday at McCutchan Stadium.

HOW THE BRAVES MATCH UP
In their 1-0 win over Drake, the lone goal came from Braden Griffin, a freshman defender for the Braves. The goal is Griffin's first in his career, and was enough to be the game-winner, as Braves keeper Nick Burke claimed his first clean sheet of the season. 

Other notable Braves were sophomore midfielder Jared Sinnaeve. Sinnaeve came into the match during the second half and showed an immediate impact, nearly connecting with Jack Douglas for an opportunity at a goal late in the game. 

The loss dropped the Bulldogs to (4-2-2, 3-1-0 MVC). 

ABOUT EVANSVILLE
The Purple Aces boast one of the best goal-scorers in the conferece, with Nacho Diaz tallying seven goals thus far, adding an assist. Diaz is also the points leader for Evansville with 15.

On the back end, Evansville will look at Alex Vidizzoni, who has started every game in goal, totaling 39 saves and 11 goals against, adding in a save percentage of 78%.
