Peoria, Ill. - Campuses everywhere have been buzzing of late. For one, there's the blended in calendar of fall and winter sports for the time being, and within the past few days has been Signing Day for athletes all across the country. This signing day, Bradley Softball and first-year head coach Sarah Willis welcomed two new players to the roster.

ANGELIA DAVIS | 5'10" SS/CF/3B | Farmington, Mo. - Farmington HS
Shortstop, center field, and third base aren't just listed as possible positions that Angelia Davis could play for the Braves. She truly has excelled at all of them. Davis started out red-hot, garnering first team all-conference and all-district honors as a freshman shortstop. Sophomore and junior year, those same honors came rolling in, but now as a center fielder. Not to mention, Davis has been recognized with almost all of those same honors here in her senior year, with the lone exception being All-State, because that has not been decided at this time. Davis also is an individual putting the 'student' in 'student-athlete', being named Academic All-State.

"I am excited to add Angelia to the program in the coming fall. She plays with a level of intensity that will be infectious on the field and in the line up. She brings with her a big bat and has the ability to change the game with one swing. She will undoubtedly make an impact the first year."

ELLA SHAFER | 5'7" RHP/SS/CF | Stillwell, Kan. - Blue Valley North HS
While being a pitcher may be the position listed first for Ella Shafer, she will look to bring her versatility to the hilltop. Shafer was awarded second team All-State as a utility player for Blue Valley North. Shafer will be a consistent piece to the Braves' bats, being the holder of Blue Valley North's all-time batting average record. Fans could also perhaps see Shafer play a key role on the base paths, as she has both qualified for the State Finals in the 200 meter dash, as well as been part of a record-setting 4x100 relay at Blue Valley North. Shafer's academic accomplishments fit right in at an institution like Bradley. She scored a 32 on the ACT, holds a 4.4 GPA, as was named the 2022 winner of the Heisman Scholarship.
