PEORIA, Ill. – With the 2022 Missouri Valley Conference Track & Field Indoor Championship a little over two weeks away, Bradley Track & Field will send a contingent to the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, Friday and Saturday in addition to competing in Allendale, Mich., Friday at the Grand Valley State Big Meet.

WEEKEND INFO
The Braves will send eight individuals to run at the Iowa State Classic Friday and Saturday.

Friday's action in Ames, Iowa, gets under way with freshman Nicola Jansen in the women's 5,000 meters and redshirt freshman Michael Rebello in the men's 5,000 meters.  Both individuals will be running the 5K for the first time, with Jansen owning the top 3,000-meter time in the MVC this season. Rebello's 3K time of 8:22.00 from last week's Meyo Invitational ranks sixth in the Valley.

Bradley will have a pair of individuals in the women's 3,000 meters during Friday's competition at Iowa State in sophomore Sophia McDonnell and redshirt freshman Ashley Maguire.  McDonnell's 3K PR from the last trip to Ames, Iowa, in January is third in the MVC this year.  On the men's side, junior George Watson will close out Friday's action at Iowa State in the 3,000 meters looking to improve on his team-best 3K time that also came at January's Cyclone Open.

On Saturday at Iowa State, sophomore Julia Nielsen will run in the women's 800 meters after posting the top time in the MVC in the event last time out at the UW Invitational.  Saturday will also feature sophomore Max Dieterich in the men's mile along with fellow sophomore Will Smith in the men's 800 meters.

The Braves will also send 28 individuals to Allendale, Mich., for Friday's Grand Valley Big Meet, which will get underway at 8 a.m. (CST).  The Bradley men will have four individuals running in the both the men's 800, mile and 3,000 meters along with junior Charlie Parris in the men's 5,000 meters.  On the women's side, freshman Amiyah Davis is one of four Braves slated to run in the 200 meters to help highlight the day's competition after she helped Bradley break the school record in the 4x400-meter relay.

The Grand Valley Big Meet will also include the Braves competing in the men's 60, 200 and 400 meters, while the women will run in the 60 meters, 60-meter hurdles, 400, 800 and mile in addition to the long jump and triple jump.

LAST TIME OUT
In addition to the school record in the women's 4x400-meter relay, last week's Meyo Invitational was highlighted by Will Smith posting the second-best 600-meter time in school history.  In addition, sophomore Rodrigo Alvarez Gonzalez paced three Braves in the 5,000 meters, clocking the 10th-best time all-time at Bradley.

UP NEXT
The Braves will have their final competition before the MVC Indoor Championship later this month, with Bradley returning to South Bend, Ind., for the Alex Wilson Invite on Saturday, Feb. 19.
