PEKIN, IL – Two consecutive doubles points and strong showings by Bozana Lojpur and Maria Bezmenova in singles powered Bradley Tennis to a Saturday sweep of Omaha and Eastern Illinois.

Bradley (3-5) claimed its second doubles point of the season in its first contest against Omaha (5-3) after a dominating win at the No. 1 spot by Madalena Andrade/Kirstin Hailey, 6-1, and a nail-bitter, 7-6(2) at No. 3 Doubles by Lojpur/Nikki Perlwitz

BU continued its strong momentum into singles, racing to first set victories at No. 1 and No. 4 Singles by Lojpur and Nina Marjanovic, respectively.

The Mavericks found their onto the board with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 3 Singles. Lojpur and Marjanovic followed by closing out three set victories to give BU a 3-1 match lead.

Maria Bezmenova delivered the knockout blow for Bradley, clinching a 7-6(2), 6-2 victory at No. 5 Singles. The dual match lasted more than four hours.

After a break, the Braves picked up right where they left off, taking the doubles point from Eastern Illinois with wins at Nos. 1 and 3.

Bezmenova cruised to a straight set victory at No. 5, her fourth singles win in a row. The streak is a career high. Lojpur clawed her way to another three-set victory, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 at No. 1 Singles and Perlwitz delivered the dagger, racing to a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 6 Singles.

Bradley will be back in action next Saturday against Western Illinois at Parkside Fitness. The contest will begin at 11 o'clock. Admission is free.
