PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley Track & Field will send a small contingent down I-74 for the final outing before the 2022 Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championship, with 13 Braves scheduled to compete Friday in Champaign, Ill., at the Illini Classic.
WEEKEND INFO
With the MVC Indoor Championship a little over a week away, Bradley joins conference rival Illinois State, along with Butler, Illinois and UIC at the Illini Classic Friday.
Action gets underway at 4 p.m. Friday at the UI Armory.
On the men's side, senior Matt Aho will join three Braves in the mile along with the freshmen trio of Brandon Kamp, Ismail Tineh and Mickey Vreeland, while junior Ethan Kirchner will run in the men's 400 meters.
Freshman Shae Fuller will compete in the women's triple jump after turning in a school record in the event in January to help highlight Friday's action for Bradley. In addition, sophomores Kelsey Dalton, T'ya Suber and Sierra Bryant are slated to run in the women's 200. Dalton is the lone Brave entered in the 60-meter dash, while Bryant is also scheduled to run in the 400.
The women's 800-meter field will feature three Braves, with sophomore Tiana LoStracco and freshman Maya Henderson both running in the event for the first time this season. Sophomore Reina McMillan will join the pair in the 800 meters after posting a personal-best time in the event at last week's GVSU Big Meet. Sophomore Olivia Harp rounds out the day's events for the Braves in the women's mile.
LAST TIME OUT
The Braves sent individuals to Ames, Iowa, for the Iowa State Classic along with the Grand Valley State Big Meet in Allendale, Mich., last weekend. School records in the women's 800 meters (Julia Nielsen) and 200 meters (Amiyah Davis), along with the top women's 5,000-meter time in the MVC since 2016 (Nicola Jansen) helped highlight last week's competition.
In the men's 5,000 meters, Charlie Parrish clocked the third-best 5,000-meter time in the MVC this season, while George Watson clocked the third-best time in the 3,000 meters in the Valley.
