Winning Streak Snapped Against #75 SIUE

Box Score EDWARDSVILLE, IL – Bradley Tennis had its three-match winning streak snapped Friday afternoon as the #75 ranked SIUE Cougars extended a program record winning streak with a 4-2 victory at the Edwardsville Meyer Center.

The ever-reliable doubles tandem of Bozana Lojpur/Nikki Perlwitz picked up a 6-3 win at No. 3 Doubles and put Bradley (3-6) ahead, 1-0, in the doubles point. BU fell at the top two spots and SIUE (9-0) took the point.

Bradley did not go down easy, tying it up with a 7-5, 6-0 win for Nina Marjanovic at No. 5 Singles. The Cougars rattled off wins at Nos 1, 2 and 4 Singles to seal the match victory.

After the match was decided, Madalena Andrade picked up her second victory in as many matches with a gritty 6-4, 2-6, 16-14 win at No. 3 Singles.

Match Notes: With SIUE earning a No. 75 ranking by the ITA on Wednesday, today marked the first time since 2018-19 Bradley has played a ranked opponent... It is the fourth time under Head Coach Matt Tyler BU has played a ranked opponent... Lojpur/Perlwitz picked up their 35^th career win together… it was their fifth consecutive win together, a new career-long winning streak for the pair. They had a previous streak of four consecutive wins in a row… Marjanovic picked up her third consecutive win in singles, marking only the second time in her Bradley career she has won at least three straight singles matches… After starting off her Bradley career winless in eight singles matches, Andrade has now won two matches in a row at No. 3 Singles… BU has not won a match this year without wins at No. 1 Doubles or No. 1 Singles.
