DES MOINES, IA – Bradley's four starters from the state of Iowa combined for 58 points, but the Braves (4-22, 1-16 MVC) Drake rallied for a 77-71 Missouri Valley Conference women's basketball victory on its Senior Day Sunday afternoon at the Knapp Center.

Bradley senior guard Tatum Koenig (West Branch) shared game-high honors with 22 points, while freshman guard Caroline Waite (Ames) added 21.  Freshman Abbie Draper (Waverly) scored nine points and senior guard Chloe Rice (Marion) added six points and five assists to complete the scoring for Bradley's Iowa contingent.

Drake junior guard Megan Meyer matched Koenig's 22 points to pace the Bulldogs, who also received 15 points from Grace Berg and 13 from Maggie Bair.  Berg and Bair also shared game-high honors with seven rebounds each, as Drake won the battle of the boards by a 46-33 count.

Trailing 17-14 after the first quarter, Bradley heated up in the second, outscoring the hosts by a 30-15 margin in the period.  The Braves were 11-for-16 (.688) from the field, including 6-for-8 from 3-point range, in the second quarter.

Drake rebounded in the second half, however, outscoring the Braves 27-14 in the third quarter to reclaim the lead.  The final period went back and forth, before Drake took the lead for good, 69-67, on a pair of Bair free throws with 2:23 remaining.  Bair's 3-pointer with 1:45 left gave the Bulldogs a 72-67 advantage and the Braves got no closer than three, 72-69, following a Draper putback with 1:23 left.

Sunday's rematch of the 2021 MVC Hoops in the Heartland MVC Women's Basketball Championship final was Bradley's final road game of the regular season.  The Braves will host I-74 rival Illinois State at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, before heading to the Quad Cities to defend their Valley tourney title.  Bradley's four seniors – Gabi Haack, Aannah Interrante, Tatum Koenig and Chloe Rice – will be honored in a pregame ceremony Saturday afternoon.
