Third Consecutive Road Weekend on Tap for Tennis

CHICAGO, IL. – After picking up its first point of the dual match season last weekend against Northern Illinois, Bradley Tennis will play road matches on consecutive days for the first time since early in the 2019-20 season when it faces Chicago State and UIC this weekend.

SERIES HISTORY vs. CHICAGO STATE | LAST MEETING
  • BU leads the series against the Cougar, 15-4, including a 5-3 mark on the road.
  • The Braves have won six straight contests against CSU.
  • Bradley's current six match win streak is the longest in program history against Chicago State and the third winning streak of at least four matches versus in the series.
  • The Braves swept the Cougars, 7-0 last February at The Clubs at River City.
     
SERIES HISTORY vs. UIC | LAST MEETING
  • The Flames have a 7-6 edge in the series against Bradley.
  • UIC took a 6-1 victory in Peoria last season.

  • Bradley's matchup against UIC is the last between the in-state foes before the Flames join the Missouri Valley Conference.

  • Nikki Perlwitz and Bozana Lojpur are creeping up the Bradley Tennis Record Book in multiple statistical categories.
  • Lojpur sits eighth in Bradley Tennis history in career singles wins with 55. She is three wins away from a tie for seventh place.
  • She is closely trailed by Perlwitz, who owns 53 career wins and is in 10th place. She is one win away from moving into a tie for ninth.
  • The duo is also sixth in program history in career doubles wins with 31.
  • They are one triumph away from cracking the top five. 
  • The all-time record is held by former teammates Sandra Maletin/Natalia Barbery, with 43.
 
LAST WEEK
  • BU played a doubleheader at the Boylan Tennis Center in Rockford, IL against Wisconsin and host Northern Illinois.
  • Juliana Martinez was able to pick up the opening set at No. 4 Singles against the Badgers but the Braves dropped the decision.
  • Kirstin Hailey picked up the first win of her dual match career at No. 2 Singles against NIU by a score of 1-6, 6-2 6-2.
