SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Bradley Men's Golf got off to a strong start at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate, carding its lowest round of the spring in the opening round and the Braves were at six-over par in the second round when Monday's play was suspended due to lightning in the area.

Junior Josh Kirkham fired a one-over 72 to start the day for his low round of the spring season to help highlight Bradley's first-round 301, which was the team's lowest round dating back to late September at the Derek Dolenc Invitational.

Lightning in the area of the par-71 Twin Oaks Country Club forced the suspension of the day's second round, with most individuals playing between six and eight holes.

Originally scheduled to be a 54-hole event, the tournament will now be shortened to 36 holes with the teams planning on resuming the second round Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.

Bradley's first-round 301 was good for a share of 13th in the 16-team field, with the Braves matching Omaha's first-round total.  The pair sat just three shots out of a three-way tie for eighth in the team standings after the first round.  Oral Roberts was the leader after the first 18 holes, turning in an impressive 11-under 273 to lead the field.

After his first round 72, Kirkham was two-under through seven holes in the second round when play was suspended and is tied for 11th at one-under par when play resumes tomorrow morning.

Junior Nick Armbrust and transfer Aaeri Krishnan were tied for 70th overall in the field at eight-over at the close of Monday's action.  Armbrust opened the day with his lowest round of the year, posting a four-over 75 and was four-over through six holes in the second round.

Krishnan is two-over through six holes in the second round, following a first-round 77.

Junior Roy Radke matched Krishnan's first-round 77 and is one shot back at nine-over (T74th) with 12 holes to play Tuesday.  Sophomore Brady Kreiter rounded out the team scoring for Bradley with a first-round 83 and is two-over through six holes in the second round to close the day's play 87th overall.

In the field as an individual, junior John Stillman started the day with his lowest round of the spring (78).  He was five-over par through seven holes in the second round and is tied for 82nd overall at 12-over.

The final round of the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate is scheduled to resume Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
