Braves Drop Valley Opener

BLOOMINGTON, IL – Bradley Women's Tennis dropped its Missouri Valley Conference season opener on the road to Illinois State, 6-1, at the Evergreen Racquet Club Sunday evening.

The Redbirds took all three doubles matches, with 6-3 wins at Nos. 1 and 2 sealing the point.

The 'Birds followed with successive wins at Nos. 3, 4, 5 Singles to clinch the match win. After the match was clinched, Nikki Perlwitz sealed a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 6 Singles.

The Braves are back in action next weekend, hosting Missouri State. The match will be broadcasted on ESPN as a part of The Valley ESPN.

Match Notes: Nikki Perlwitz's win at No. 6 was her fourth triumph in the last five matches… It was the 60^thsingles win of her career. Perlwitz is only the seventh player in BU Tennis history to reach 60 career singles wins.
