Samantha Smith Named Prairie Farms Athlete of the Month

Senior Samantha Smith of the softball team is the Prairie Farms Bradley Athlete of the Month, earning the honor after a fan vote for the month of February.

Smith hit a team-best .400 during the month, while also connecting for a .644 slugging percentage with five doubles and two home runs. She also led Bradley with 15 runs during the 14-game month – ranking 64th nationally in runs per game – while adding 10 RBI. The senior collected hits in 12-of-14 games in February with four multi-hit games to her credit. Highlighting the season's first month for Smith was being named to the All-Tournament Team at the Plainsman Invite.

Smith earned the Bradley Athlete of the Month accolades after a fan vote on the school's twitter account. She collected 39 percent of the vote to beat out Michael Rebello of the men's track and field team (34 percent), Rienk Mast of men's basketball (19 percent) and Nicola Jansen of the women's track and field team (seven percent).
