AZUSA, CA – Sophomores Wilma Nielsen and Tiana LoStracco continued to post times among the best in Bradley Women's Outdoor Track and Field history, both running strong races in the 800 meters Thursday afternoon at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

Making her 2022 outdoor track debut for the Braves, Nielsen posted the fourth-best time in her record-setting 800m career by completing the first heat in 2:05.47. The time was Nielsen's best in a regular-season collegiate meet, trailing only her performances in the 2021 European U23 Championships and the 2021 NCAA Track and Field West Preliminary.

All of the top 20 performances in Bradley 800m history have been clocked by Wilma Nielsen, her sister Julia Nielsen and LoStracco, who fit another run into that list by posting a 2:07.09 in Thursday's second heat.

Classmate Sophia McDonnell also will compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational late Thursday night in Southern California, running her section of the 5,000 meters after 10 o'clock PT. LoStracco will return to the track Friday by again running the 800m at the Mt. Sac Relays. The Women's 800m at Hilmer Lodge Stadium is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. PT (5:30 CT) Friday.

Bradley has 24 student-athletes signed up to compete in 17 events Saturday during the second day of the Redbird Challenge at rival Illinois State University's Redbird Track & Field Complex. Sophomore Sierra Bryant is scheduled to get Saturday's action started for the Braves by competing in the Women's Shot Put at noon. Sophomore Noah Costa will close out this week's action on the track by running in the Men's 1,500m at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
