Bradley recorded 12 top 10 finishes in the men's and women's 800m and 1500m races Saturday

NORMAL, IL – The Bradley Men's and Women's Track teams combined for 12 top 10 finishes in the 800m and 1500m races, highlighting a full day of action for the Braves at Illinois State's Redbird Invitational Saturday afternoon at Redbird Track and Field Complex.

Freshman Shae Fuller got the day started with a jolt by leaping to the best distance in the long jump by a women's team member since 1983, posting the third-best long jump in program history at 17' 11.5" for a sixth-place finish.

Sophomore Kyra Koontz followed with personal bests in the shot put (32' 3.75"), the best by a Brave since 2008, and finished off her day with another PR in the 200m (27.85), after also competing in the 100m hurdles.

Freshmen Brandon Kamp (9:47.78) and Mickey Vreeland (9:59.13) both debuted in the 3,000m steeplechase by running to second- and third-place finishes, respectively.

Junior Tyler Schwartz made her 2022 outdoor debut by slicing nearly 11 seconds off her career- best time in the 1,500m, finishing second in 4:37.99, followed by freshman Alice Narciso (4:42.72) in sixth place. On the men's side, freshman Michael Rebello (3:56.20) took third in the 1,500m, while sophomore Noah Costa took seventh with a personal-best 3:59.12 and Ivan Westcott took 10th at 3:59.98.

In the 800m, sophomore Tiana LoStracco finished second among 29 runners in 2:15.57, while all six Bradley men's runners in the 800m finished among the top 10: Will Smith (2nd), Zach Albrecht (3rd), Joey Simon (5th), Mason Jones (6th), Aidan Donohue (9th) and Alex Klinkner 10th).

The Bradley Outdoor Track teams are scheduled to return to action next Saturday by participating in the Joe Walker Invitational, hosted by Ole Miss.
