Academic All-District 5 Repeat Selections

McKenzie Altmayer and Charlie Parrish are repeat selections for the CoSIDA Academic All-District 5 Cross Country/Track Teams

Bradley student-athletes McKenzie Altmayer (Geneva, IL/Geneva HS) and Charlie Parrish (Freeburg, IL/Freeburg HS) have repeated as CoSIDA Academic All-District 5 Cross Country/Track selections, according to a vote of member SIDs announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America Thursday afternoon.

Altmayer, who earned Academic All-America third-team honors in 2020-21, now is a three-time selection to the Academic All-District 5 squad. After graduating last year with a 3.96 cumulative grade point average while majoring in English creative writing, Altmayer boasts a perfect 4.00 postgraduate GPA as she pursues her master's degree in counseling (clinical mental health). In competition, Altmayer is a six-time All-Missouri Valley Conference performer, earning the distinction three times in cross country (2017, 2019, 2020-21) and three times in indoor track (2019 3,000m and DMR; 2021 DMR).

Altmayer is the only Missouri Valley Conference cross country/track student-athlete to earn 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-District 5 recognition and she now becomes eligible for 2022 Academic All-America consideration.

Also advancing to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, Parrish earned his bachelor's degree in business management & leadership in December sporting a 3.93 cumulative GPA and has begun pursuit of his master's in business administration at Bradley. A four-time MVC Scholar-Athlete honoree in cross country and track, Parrish also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 5 honors in 2020-21.

Preparing to compete in the Men's 3,000m Steeplechase at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship West Preliminary Friday night, Parrish is a five-time All-MVC performer on the track after finishing as runner-up in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the MVC Championships earlier this month.
